Late breaking abstracts (only posters) should be submitted no later than November 12, 2017 by the online abstract submission system. Abstracts received by e-mail, by fax or after the deadline will not be considered.
The Scientific Committee will select the abstracts in order to allocate them in the sessions as oral presentation or as poster.
Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent to the corresponding author by October 30, 2017 for the abstracts sent in the first deadline. The registered author will receive all information concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing the other authors of the status of the abstract.
The presenting author of the accepted abstract must register and attend the Congress.
Information for presenters
Oral presentations are limited to 7 minutes followed by 3 minutes of discussion.
Participants presenting in oral sessions are requested to submit their presentations to the slide centre at least one hour before the start of their session.
Upon submission, indicate your preferred presentation form (oral or poster) and one of the following category that best describes the abstract:
- Autoantibodies, biomarkers and imaging
- Diagnostic and classification criteria
- Difficult cases forum
- Environmental, epigenetics and genomics
- Family planning, fertility, pregnancy and neonatal care
- Innate and adaptive immunity
- Management and recommendations
- New therapies/Biologics; SLE drug pipeline
- Registries and cohorts
- Tissue injury and response to injury
- Treat to Target: Outcome measures, disease flare and remission
- Trials, successful designing
The complete abstract must not exceed 3.200 characters including spaces (approx. 350 words).
Structured abstracts are mandatory. The abstracts should state clearly:
Tables, charts or other graphics could be included as only one image in jpeg format.
It is the author’s responsibility to submit a correct abstract; any errors in spelling, grammar or scientific fact will be reproduced as typed by the author, if accepted.
Please follow carefully the instructions reported in the online pages and fill in all the requested fields, in order to guarantee a correct and complete publication of the text.
Changes to abstracts can only be accepted until the deadline and can be added in the text using the User ID and Password received upon submission.
All abstracts accepted as posters will be displayed at E-Poster Stations (LCD Screens). The discussion will take place in the Lunch and Poster Area in the Building 22.01, during lunchtime on Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23.
The electronic poster will be structured with 2 slides (1st slide: Objective, Design and Method – 2nd slide: Results and Conclusions) and each author has 3 minutes for the presentation and 1 minute for the discussion.
The E-Poster Discussion during lunchtime will be guided and moderated by a chairperson. All presentations, discussions and questions must be in English.
All submitted abstracts, accepted as oral presentation or poster, will be published as a supplement to the official journal of Lupus 2018 “Lupus Science & Medicine“ under the terms of BMJ’s exclusive license. The presenting author of the accepted abstract must register within February 10, 2018 and attend the Congress; if not, the abstract will be withdrawn from the Abstract Book.
